If you haven't already, watch the welcome video presented by Bishop Mike Harrison before moving on to this session.
Before you start
When you begin watching the training videos, you will hear several different terms used for people taking part in the Greenhouse process. Click the headings below to understand what they each mean. When you have completed the training, you may identify with one or more of these:
Enabler
You are the key contact in the area where you want to run Greenhouse. This may be a diocese, a deanery or another geographical area. You will be drawing together a Greenhouse Facilitation Team of three or four ‘Facilitators’. This Team might include you, but not necessarily.
Facilitation Team
You will work together to help make Greenhouse happen. Everything in this training will explain and equip you for your responsibilities which include:
• Meeting with your co-Facilitators using the templates and resources provided, to plan and design all aspects of your Greenhouse.
• Facilitate the Greenhouse Learning Community Gatherings.
• Provide ongoing support, encouragement and communication to Greenhouse Teams in between gatherings.
• Meet with other Facilitators from across the country twice per year for mutual support and to share learning. The national Greenhouse Team will convene this event and invite you.
• Share your stories: as your Greenhouse gets underway, you might want to share what’s happening and good news stories from time to time across your diocese, deanery or other area. Perhaps one of you might hold this as a particular responsibility, but all of you will be mindful of good news that would encourage and inspire others.
A Greenhouse Team
This is a Team based at a local level, perhaps in a parish or in another specific context, and which is working on the ground to build a new Christian community / fresh expression of church.
Facilitators will need to find these Teams and recruit them into the Greenhouse.
Training Workbook
Before you begin, you and your Facilitation Team (if aleady recruited) may like to download this Workbook. It can be used as a tool to remind you of what you have seen in the training videos and to record your own notes as you work your way through the discussions and reflections.
There are two formats available - an editable pdf which you can use on your screen, type in your notes and save in your usual digital files, or, a printable version for those who would prefer a paper copy.

What else you'll need
When your Facilitation Team is assembled, you will all need:
• A copy of the above Workbook each if you'd like one
• A pen if you want to make notes this way rather than on screen
• Access to the internet so you can all view greenhousehub.org together
• About three-four hours of time (you can work through the whole training in one sitting over this time, or split it up into sessions as you wish
• Optional -
the Godsend book. This has some lovely prayer resources you can use for reflection throughout the training
We recommend you all meet in person to watch and complete the training together, although working through it online is also possible.

Space to reflect
Scripture and other readings
After watching the videos above, Enablers and the Facilitation Team might now like to spend some time (up to 20mins) reflecting and focusing this journey on God.
Scripture readings Matthew 28:16-20 or Luke 10:1-22 may be helpful.
If you have the Godsend book, you may also like to turn to p. 48 and use the ‘Bite, Savour, Digest’ questions.
Discussion
Jot your thoughts in your Workbook if you wish as you talk together around these themes:
1. What has drawn you to be part of Greenhouse?
2. What are you excited about?
3. Is there anything you are apprehensive or unsure about?
4. What would you like from this training?
Pray together now in whatever way you're most comfortable with.
Optional discussion
Having completed the first section, you might like to reflect further:
• What has inspired you from this section?
• What do you particularly want to remember as you prepare for your Greenhouse?
• Do you have any thoughts or feelings as you apply this to your own setting which you’d like to share with your team?
